Business Excellence

The term 'Business Excellence' evokes strong emotions, giving the concept a very complex character in the minds of people who think about it. Honestly, we believe that it’s a combination of just common sense and integrating everything you do as a business to achieve Business Performance that you desire.

Whether you follow industry models of Business Excellence such as Malcolm Baldrige or EFQM Excellence Model or your own excellence model, GIEOM lets you define and manage your Business Excellence framework in a manner that it becomes a child’s play to manage your Business Performance.GIEOM provides a Business Excellence framework by addressing a few key areas that are not addressed either wholly or partially by existing applications -

Business Performance

The common notion is that Business Performance is the same as Performance Reporting or MIS. While the basis of both are similar, the manner in which it is conducted and their purpose are different. MIS, including the weekly or monthly Balanced Scorecard reviews do provide some insight into WHAT is going wrong or right. However it leaves the WHY to constant pointing of fingers between departments and/or individuals. Even if a WHY is identified and fixed, the approach of capturing the whole cycle of identification to closure is not automated. The communication and the data of the HOW issues that are tracked and closed are either in the minutes of meeting reports or in emails of individuals who are associated with it or some incident management application which does not map the organizational model and its processes and therefore gets lost.

GIEOM brings the entire approach of identification to actioning into one place and it further provides advanced Analytics so that you can start new Business Transformation initiatives as part of your Business Excellence journey, since the analytics generated from GIEOM adequately support creation of new business cases for launching new projects geared towards improving both top-line and bottom-line . You have the power now to know WHY performance is happening the way it is, WHERE bottlenecks exist, WHICH processes cause the impact and WHO are responsible for it. The WHAT is something you always knew and our dashboards are the means of monitoring them. GIEOM also has the power to show your Key Performance Indicators within context, thereby providing you capabilities to define rules that could potentially make GIEOM your personal analyst.

Business Operating Model

The Business Operating Model (BOM) is often confused with Process Models. While it is true that the building blocks for the Business Model is the Process Model, both are distinctly different. E.g. An organization may have one product or a service that it sells in multiple regions and there will be variations in some aspects to the processes based on regulations, tax structures, localization, methods of sale or service level requirements. These may lead to variations in process models to address different criteria. However, this has to be integrated to provide an insight into the short-term and long-term strategy and the implementation of the same. GIEOM provides a simplified way of organizing processes and using them as building blocks to construct the BOM.

Compliance & Risks

Compliance & Risks are usually seen as a prerogative of the Risk & Control departments of an organization. Compliance can be of any nature - internal policies, external certifications or governmental regulations, while the system framework may be setup by the Compliance team, it is the operational team that needs to follow them on a daily basis. By merely auditing the departments, the adoption and internalization of the policies by all staff will not be achieved. They need to be provided with tools and techniques that will not be an overhead in their day-to-day work. Moreover, the final objective of regulations and risk are to ensure that customer experience is superior and that the business is profitable. GIEOM has the capabilities - both for the Compliance & Risk teams to setup the framework as well as the Business teams to implement them in their daily work so that regulations become an inherent part of Business Processes and can be a contributor to the top-line and bottom-line of the organization.

Change Management

GIEOM has powerful capabilities to address Change Management in a contextual and integrated manner. So whether it is change in process and the sending of corresponding notifications to reviewers and authorizers, change in compliance or the implementation of targeted organizational learning and testing for use of IT systems and Processes - GIEOM has excellent capabilities to make this aspect of Business Excellence painless.
